DESCRIPTION:This course is appropriate for dentists and staff.\n\n\n\nCE credits for Sedation Permit Renewals \n\n\n\nEvent Details\n\n\n\nSedation Permit Renewal Credits \n\n\n\n This activity is for dentists to receive the CE required to renew both oral conscious sedation (8 hours of CE)  and parenteral or IV sedation permits. \n\n\n\nIf more than 8 hours of CE are needed to renew sedation permits\, This course\, in conjunction with our 8 hour online course (sold separately) is for parenteral or I.V.  sedation permit renewals.  To participate in online continuing education course click here.  \n\n\n\nSedation/General Anesthesia Monitoring \n\n\n\nfor Licensed Dentists\, Oral Surgeons\, Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists. \n\n\n\n This 8- hour dental sedation continuing education program is for currently permitted anesthesia providers and staff. DESCRIPTION:Sedation of High-Risk Patients\n\n\n\nTwo-Day CE Curriculum\n\n\n\nTo Satisfy Recently Mandated Sedation of High-Risk Patients (RULE §110.16)(C)(2) by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners\n\n\n\nThis 2-day (16 hours of CE) didactic and hands on continuing educational program consists of both class room didactics along with a hands on clinical component utilizing high fidelity manikins to simulate 10 cases. \n\n\n\nCourse Objectives:\n\n\n\nPre-anesthetic patient assessment\, physical evaluation\, pharmacology of sedative agents\, appropriate sedation/anesthetic techniques\, intra-operative monitoring\, peri-operative complications\, records keeping along with recovery and discharge of medically compromised/high risk patients including but not limited to geriatrics\, obese\, special needs\, cardiovascular disease\, pulmonary disease\, endocrine disorders\, genetic disorders\, obstructive sleep apnea and other systemic conditions. \n\n\n\nEnrollees will manage and complete 10 cases utilizing high-fidelity patient simulation with the use of computers that simulate real-life scenarios.
