DESCRIPTION:This course is appropriate for dentists and staff. \n\n\n\nCE credits for Sedation Permit Renewals \n\n\n\nEvent Details\n\n\n\nSedation Permit Renewal Credits \n\n\n\n This activity is for dentists to receive the CE required to renew both oral conscious sedation (8 hours of CE)  and parenteral or IV sedation permits. \n\n\n\nIf more than 8 hours of CE are needed to renew sedation permits\, This course\, in conjunction with our 8 hour online course (sold separately) is for parenteral or I.V.  sedation permit renewals.  To participate in online continuing education course click here.  \n\n\n\nSedation/General Anesthesia Monitoring \n\n\n\nfor Licensed Dentists\, Oral Surgeons\, Dental Assistants and Dental Hygienists. \n\n\n\n This 8- hour dental sedation continuing education program is for currently permitted anesthesia providers and staff. This program is designed to provide participants with updates on current standards\, regulations\, the latest science and evidence based techniques in regards to managing the airway\, medical emergencies and monitoring as related to sedation and anesthesia in the office setting. \n\n\n\nCourse Objectives \n\n\n\nAt completion of this course participants should be able to:Identify the roles and responsibilities of each sedation team memberDescribe the standards and regulations as related to office based anesthesia and analgesiaDescribe and utilize the necessary monitoring and emergency equipment requiredDemonstrate airway management using multiple devicesDescribe related pharmacology of sedatives\, reversal agents and emergency medicationsDescribe appropriate monitoring and documentationDevelop acceptable recovery & discharge protocolsUnderstand the latest recommended guidelines from the American Dental Association (ADA). \n\n\n\nThis program includes didactic instruction and a hands on skills workshop in airway managementutilizing simulation and multiple airway devices\, in addition scenarios will be constructed andparticipants will be asked questions in regards to managing medical emergencies. \n\n\n\nThis 8 hour CE course along with 8 hours of CE from our online course meet the requirements for parenteral sedation permit renewals for Dentists. \n\n\n\nLocation: \n\n\n\nEmbassy Suites by Hilton San Antonio Airport \n\n\n\n10110 US-281 \n\n\n\nSan Antonio\, TX 78216 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nConscious Sedation Consulting LLC is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry. The formal continuing dental education programs of this program provider are accepted by the AGD for Fellowship\, Mastership and membership maintenance credit. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state or provincial board of dentistry or AGD endorsement. The current term of approval extends from January 1\, 2018 to December 31\, 2028.
